Infinite (bahasa Korea: 인피니트), bahasa Jepang: インフィニット; dibaca INFINITE) adalah boyband asal Korea Selatan di bawah label Woollim Entertainment, yang juga rumah bagi bakat lain seperti Epik High dan Nell. Kelompok ini terdiri dari 7 anggota: Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Hoya, Sungyeol, L, dan Sungjong. Mereka dikenal karena tarian mereka sangat disinkronkan serta 'Scorpion Dance' mereka di MV "Before The Dawn". 2010: First Invasion
Pada tahun 2010, Infinite muncul dalam acara reality "You Are My Oppa" yang memperkenalkan grup ini sebelum mereka debut pada 9 Juni 2010. Mereka menampilkan lagu dari EP mereka, First Invasion dengan singel "Comeback Again" dan "She's Back". "
2011: Evolution, Over the Top, dan debut Jepang
Pada 7 Januari 2011, mereka mengeluarkan singel Before the Dawn (BTD) dari EP mereka yang kedua, Evolution. Promosi untuk BTD (Before The Dawn) berakhir pada 17 Februari 2011 di Inkigayo di mana mereka menampilkan lagu ini dalam versi remix. Teaser MV untuk lagu selanjutnya, Nothing's Over dari album singel pertama mereka dirilis pada 7 Maret 2011. Video penuhnya dirilis pada 16 Maret 2011 menjelang comeback stage mereka di M! Countdown pada 17 Maret 2011, di mana mereka menampilkan Nothing's Overdan Shot. Infinite melanjutkan promosi mereka dengan lagu Can U Smile pada 12 Mei 2011 di Mnet M! Countdown.
Album pertama mereka, Over the Top dirilis pada 21 Juli 2011 bersamaan dengan perilisan MV lagu Be Mine (내꺼하자). Teaser dari video ini dirilis pada 15 Juli 2011 di website resmi mereka diikuti dengan pratinjau dari album mereka pada tanggal 20. Mereka kembali pada 23 Juli 2011 di Music Core. Pada 16 September 2011, Infinite mengumumkan bahwa akan merilis repackage dari album Over the Top pada tanggal 26 September 2011. Pada 22 September, Woollim Entertainment mengungkapkan teaser Paradise, singel dari repackage albumOver The Top/Paradise. Pada 9 Oktober 2011, mereka untuk pertama kalinya membawakan Paradise di Inkigayo. Mereka memenangkan trofi kedua pada 13 Oktober 2011 di M! Countdown.
Infinite debut di Jepang dengan singel To-Ra-Wa pada 26 Januari 2011. Segera setelah dirilis, album Evolution langsung menempati #3 di real-time charts untuk penjualan diKorea. Lagunya menempati #1 untuk ringtone di chart harian dari bagian K-POP di website Japan's top mobile. Infinite merilis singel versi Jepang dari BTD.
Mereka merilis lagu Natal yang berjudul "White Confession" pada 5 Desember 2011.
2012: Tur, Aktivitas Individual, Comeback dan She's Back
Infinite menampilkan konser Korea pertama mereka di samping lebih dari 8,000 penonton pada 11-12 Februari 2012 di Seoul Olympic Park di Songpa District, timur kota Seoul. Judul dari konser ini adalah Second Invasion, menyusul setelah album debut mereka, "First Invasion". Tiketnya langsung habis dalam waktu 10 menit setelah dirilis pada 14 Desember 2011. Teaser untuk konser telah dirilis.
Dongwoo menyanyi bersama Baby Soul/Yoo Jia di singel barunya yang berjudul "She's A Flirt" yang dirilis pada 18 Januari 2012.
L ikut berperan dalam drama televisi tvN "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" yang mulai ditayangkan pada 30 Januari 2012.
Sunggyu dan Woohyun membuat debut musikal mereka di "Gwanghwamun Sonata" pada 7 Februari 2012 sampai tanggal 11 Maret 2012 di LG Arts Center.
Pada 1 April, penampilan encore dari konser pertama Infinite "Second Invasion" digelar, sekali lagi digelar di Seoul Olympic Park. Encore ini berjudul "Second Invasion - Evolution". Penjualan tiket konser dirilis pada 28 Februari 2012 dan terjual habis sebanyak 10.000 tempat duduk.
Encore yang mendapat partner dengan YouTube, untuk menyiarkan seluruh bagian konser itu kepada dunia. Infinite sekarang kelompok K-pop pertama yang pernah hidup aliran konser melalui Youtube..
Album "Be Mine" dibuat lagi untuk menjadi singel Jepang yang kedua. Album ini dirilis pada 18 April 2012 dengan 4 versi, CD + DVD limited edition ("SOLID VERSION"), dua CD Only limited edition ("POP ART VERSION"/"INNOCENT VERSION") dan regular CD Only edition. Semua limited edition sudah termasuk desain kemasan yang berbeda dan 9 photocards (dari total 15 jenis). Judul lagunya adalah versi Jepang dari lagu mereka "Naekkeohaja", dan menjadi lagu utama di album "Over the Top". Singel ini juga mencakup jalur pengenalan dan versi Jepang dari "Julia". "Be Mine menempati posisi #2 di Oricon Daily dan Weekly Charts. Melaporkan jumlah penjualan sebesar 54.218 eksemplar.
Pada 7 Mei 2012, Infinite merilis singel prolog dari album Infinitize yang berjudul "Only Tears". Mereka memenangkan "Triple Crown" untuk pemenang #1 di semua program acara musik. Pada 15 Mei, Infinite melakukan comeback dengan album mini ketiga, Infinitize dengan singel utama, "The Chaser".
Pada 14 Juni 2012, Infinite memangkan triple crown pertama di acara musik M! Countdown untuk "The Chaser" karena berturut-turut dalam 3 minggu menjadi top spot.
Pada 26 Juli, Infinite merilis PV untuk singel Jepang yang berjudul "She's Back". Singel ini telah di pre-order dari 17 Juli dengan edisi limited dan standar. Singel ini juga menempati #2 di pre-sales Tower Records. PV dari singel ini akan dirilis di Jepang pada 29 Agustus. Pada Juli, Infinite merilis film 3D yang berisi tur konser mereka yang diberi nama 2012 INFINITE Concert 3D. Pada 30 Juli, Infinite merilis teaser untuk konser musim panas mereka yang akan digelar pada 8-12 Agustus 2012 di AX-Korea. Dalam lima hari, tiket konser musim panas mereka terjual sebanyak 10.000 tiket.
Para anggota INFINITE baru-baru ini mengadakan acara 40 menit mengobrol panjang di Google+ dengan beberapa fans yang beruntung. Berjudul 'Hangout on Air', acara berlangsung di kamar pribadi hotel mereka di Jepang pada tanggal 17 Agustus 9 PM (KST) dan untuk memperingati partisipasi mereka dalam festival musik Jepang 'Summer Sonic 2012'.
INFINITE akan merilis film 3D dari konser mereka 'Second Invasion', yang berlangsung pada tanggal 1 April tahun ini. Film 3D akan menampilkan konser encore 'Second Invasion', difilmkan dengan lebih dari 30 kamera untuk membantu menyelesaikan proyek. Konser ulangan dibuka pada bulan April karena keberhasilan konser asli INFINITE, yang diadakan Februari lalu, yang terjual habis hanya dalam 10 menit.

Sunggyu debut sebagai artis solo. Lagu pre-rilis, Shine, dirilis pada 6 November dan merilis album pertamanya, Another Me, pada 19 November. L tampil dalam MV 60 second - Sunggyu. Albumnya menduduki puncak chart Hanteo dan sampai saat ini telah terjual 62.958 eksemplar. Hoya dan Dongwoo membentuk sub-unit yaitu INFINITE-H dengan lagu andalannya Special Girl featuring Bumkey.
2013: Infinite H, New Challenge dan album Jepang
Dongwoo dan Hoya membuat debut mereka sebagai Infinite H pada 10 Januari 2013 dengan album mini Fly High.
Pada 21 Maret, kelompok merilis album mini keempat, berjudul New Challenge. "Man in Love", jduul track dari album, telah memenangkan empat penghargaan acara musik TV, satu di Inkigayo, satu di Show! Music Core, satu di Music Bank dan satu di Show Champion. Kelompok dijadwalkan merilis album debut Jepang mereka, pada 6 Juni.
2013: Destiny
Destiny is the second single album of South Korean boy band Infinite. It was released on July 16, 2013 in both digital and physical format with the song of the same title "Destiny" as the promotional track.
Background
After their successful promotion in March with their fourth ep New Challenge, it was reported that the group is preparing for a comeback mid-July of the same year.
On May 22, 2013 the members headed over to Universal Studios in California to film their next music video. They have the honor of being the first K-pop group to obtain permission to film where huge blockbusters like 'Transformers' and 'The Amazing Spiderman' were filmed. Only top stars such as Lady Gaga and Chris Brown were previously allowed permission to film there. Woollim Entertainment said, "They're filming a new MV that's on the scale of Hollywood blockbusters. A total investment of 1,000,000,000 KRW (approximately $890,000 USD) went into this new MV. They'll be filming not just at Universal Studios but also 4-5 other locations across Los Angeles."
On July 1, 2013 Infinite’s official website replaced its Man in Love theme with a darker concept. The entire front page had been taken over by a splash header, featuring a brand-new logo and the words, "Destiny"! The new logo is sleek and beautiful, introducing a stylish chrome element while maintaining the figure-eight look.
With Infinite members signaled a return with a rougher and edgier concept for Destiny, on midnight of July 2, Infinite released the blockbuster-level teaser for Destiny, showing a barren and deserted land with broken airplane pieces with no one around except the members, who roams around in the abandoned city.
A week after, July 9, Woollim Entertainment updated its website with new photos of the Infinite members. Each member posed with a serious expression, a change from the bright smiles sported during Man in Love promotions.The Infinite members, clad in leather-accented outfits, will become manlier and more charismatic for the Destiny album.
The following day with an album on its way, Infinite unveiled the track list for Destiny on its official site on July 10. There are only 4 tracks in all, signaling that this will be a single album. The songs are Destiny, Inception, 너에게 간다 (Going to You) and 엄마 (Mother).
Infinite made the excitement grow by giving fans a sneak peek onto its blockbuster music video set. Infinite revealed a short teaser on July 11, taking fans to the set of Universal Studios in Los Angeles, where the group filmed the music video for Destiny. In the video, the staff members had nothing but good things to say about Infinite and the quality level of the music video to come.
Through a preview video released on July 12, Infinite fans were able to listen to little snippets of the four tracks included in the new album.
July 16, 2013 marks the release of the album alongside the music video for Destiny. The video is marked "ver. B" in the title, so this indicates that there is perhaps a "ver. A" The music video is directed by Hong Won-Ki of Zany Bros.
On the same day, behind the scenes video for Desinty was released. Following the film shoot, the cameras followed the group as they took a road trip up to Las Vegas, where they took advantage of the glitter and the lights for a memorable magazine photo shoot.
On July 19, 2013 Woollim Entertainment confirmed that there is Version A of the Destiny Music video. Woollim Entertainment explained that the version we saw was actually an edited version of the original. The video was edited after the unfortunate Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash in order to show respect for the tragic event. Thus, all the plane scenes that were included in the MV had been cut out.The agency commented, "We are currently discussing our plans about whether to release. We are discussing towards the direction of releasing it, but the exact time period has not yet been decided.
Composition
The tiltle track Destiny is written and produced by Rphabet. It takes inspiration from a lot of the complex-electro house music made popular a couple years ago. It marked the first time that the group has worked with them.
Woolim Entertainment also stated, "The mastering for Infinite's album was done by Tom Coyne, who as worked with Beyonce, Chris Brown and Adele.
Promotion
Infinite returned with an explosive comeback with Destiny and Inception on the 2013 Mnet 20's Choice Awards stage on July 18. The boys, who have clearly been working hard and working out, took on the large stage and turned it into Infinite’s domain. And since Infinite is only promoting for a short period, the fan response was at a high.
In addition to that, Infinite went on to win the Best Global Touring Artist Award later in the night.
The group is as well promoting the song on other music broadcast shows, M! Countdown on Korean cable channel M.net, Music Bank on KBS, Music Core on MBC, Inkigayo onSBS and Show Champion on MBC Music.
While the group will perform its title song, Infinite will also add another performance of a song from its new album. The catch is that the additional song will be different for each broadcast station. Woollim Entertainment stated, “After receiving interest and love in the other songs besides the main track, we are planning on showcasing Inception, Going To You, and Mom.”.
During the comeback week of promotions Infinite performed 'Mother' in Music Bank on July 19, 'Going To You' in Music Core on July 20 and 'Inception' in Inkigayo on July 21 and inShow Champion on July 24.
2013: Infinite 1st World Tour 'One Great Step'
"2013 Infinite 1st World Tour ‘ONE GREAT STEP’" is the first World Tour live concert tour of South Korean boy band Infinite to support their studio album, Destiny. The world tour commenced with a concert in Seoul in August 2013 and will continue onto Hong Kong and another Asian cities and the Americas & Europe.
